{"id":3047,"date":"2010-09-24T11:35:25","date_gmt":"2010-09-24T10:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/politics.widmann.org.uk\/?p=2843"},"modified":"2010-09-24T11:35:25","modified_gmt":"2010-09-24T10:35:25","slug":"ed-or-ed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/widmanniana.org\/blog\/ed-or-ed\/","title":{"rendered":"Ed or Ed?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.votematch.org.uk\/lab2010\/index.php\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/politics.widmann.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/labourleader2010.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"Labour leader matches\" width=\"218\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2845\" \/><\/a>Of course I cannot vote in the Labour leadership election, but I thought it would be interesting to try out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.votematch.org.uk\/lab2010\/index.php\">Vote Match&#8217;s Labour Leadership 2010 Vote Match<\/a> before tomorrow&#8217;s announcement of the new leader.<\/p>\n<p>The results are on the right &ndash; basically it&#8217;s a draw between Diane Abbott and Ed Miliband, while I seem to be quite distant from both David Miliband and especially Ed Balls.<\/p>\n<p>Most people seem to agree that Ms Abbott cannot realistically win this election, so it looks like I should support Ed Miliband.<\/p>\n<p>However, I don&#8217;t really agree with any of the candidates &ndash; the people I agree with are found amongst the Liberal Democrats and occasionally the Scottish Nationalists, and these are the parties that I want to prosper.<\/p>\n<p>It would therefore perhaps be better to support Ed Balls, from the perspective that he will take the Labour Party further away from my viewpoints.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, I guess it comes down to what the future might bring once the CoLD Coalition is out of office again.
