Some examples: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acoustic scientist in the navy: \u00a325,000.\n<li>Middle Atmosphere Scientist (PhD required): \u00a329,360&ndash;\u00a334,630.\n<li>Post Doctoral Research Scientist (biochemistry): \u00a324,200&ndash;\u00a327,200.\n<li>Scientist &ndash; Viral Vaccines: \u00a320,575&ndash;\u00a325,000.\n<li>Postdoctoral Researcher Polymer Synthetics: \u00a328,289.<\/ul>\n<p>At the same time, the government is frustrated because so few youngsters pursue science.  No wonder!  Doctors earn upwards of \u00a3100,000, as do many successful bankers, lawyers, broadcasters and so on.
